DA to picket against cadre deployment and nepotism at Levai Mbata Clinic, Emfuleni

Today, 18 September 2025, the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng will hold a picket outside the Levai Mbatha Clinic to raise urgent concerns about cadre deployment and nepotism related to the tender for the construction of a pavement at the clinic. The ward councillor who is the Speaker for Emfuleni, Cllr. Sibongile Soxuza has employed her husband, son, and individuals with family ties or close relationships with the ANC officials in Emfuleni to work on the project, excluding community members in dire need of jobs.

The DA picket will be led by the Gauteng Leader of the Official Opposition, Solly Msimanga MPL, who will hand over a memorandum with the party’s concerns to the Levai Mbatha Clinic Management. He will be accompanied by:

  • DA Emfuleni North Constituency Head, Kingsol Chabalala MPL.
  • DA Emfuleni Councillor, Cllr Dady Mollo.
  • DA Emfuleni Councillor, Cllr Prudence Hlanyane.
