-DA protests outside of Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court against Malema and his co-accused.
-DA to provide additional information to PKTT to strengthen the case.
-DA to also hand over the information received from COGTA to the state.
Today, I led a protest outside the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court against Malema and his co-accused, who are alleged to have defrauded Emfuleni of R34 million in the fleet procurement scandal.
The Emfuleni Municipality must be honest, as it cites R16 million stolen in the Emfuleni fleet scandal, when the actual figure is about R34 million.
The ANC and EFF must come clean and tell the full truth, even if this is not something they are accustomed to.
We also call on the PKTT to ensure that everyone who has benefited from this procurement fraud is arrested and faces the full might of the law.
Furthermore, we seek an audience with the PKTT to provide additional information showing that the actual figure is not R16 million.
Additionally, we intend to hand over the information we have received from COGTA to the state for inclusion in the criminal proceedings regarding this case.
This is caused by a flagrant disregard for accountability and transparency, as the ANC-led coalition arrogantly continues to commit financial slaughter in Emfuleni. Corruption remains their unique brand of depravity.
Every rand lost to procurement fraud is a rand unavailable for service delivery to Emfuleni residents.
As mentioned in our Manifesto 2026, if elected, I will strengthen the oversight bodies that keep municipalities honest. Emfuleni Municipality will establish fully functioning public accounts and audit committees, made up of properly trained members who can read a budget, scrutinize spending, and hold officials to account.
Emfuleni residents, hope is not lost: on 4 November, vote DA in order to get a corruption-free government.
