ANC-EFF coalition blocks DA relief plan, forcing Mogale City residents to pay more for less

The ANC and EFF continue to collude to support bloated municipal accounts as they reject the relief plans presented in council by the Democratic Alliance (DA).

While Mogale City is declaring a financial surplus, the residents are facing the harsh reality of unaffordable and inept service delivery. The residents are paying more for less and desperately need a relief plan that the ANC-EFF coalition continues to deny.

The Executive Mayor Cllr Lucky Sele’s, indifference to the plight of the residents persists as he refuses to table a relief plan that can be achieved.

The DA presented a well-structured and sound relief plan which would benefit all residents, offering assistance during these financially stressful times.

However, the ANC-EFF coalition looked down their nose at this sensible solution. This has caused residents to continue to carry the weight of the ever-increasing municipal accounts.

This reluctance on behalf of the ANC-EFF coalitions to stop mismanaging public funds comes from their fear of losing their gains that come from abusing tax payers’ money.

A relevant example of this is their inability to provide effective service delivery, such as ensuring accurate and reliable billing.

Where the DA governs there is improvement in more affordable service delivery.
