The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng is concerned that a fire has broken out at yet another school in the Vaal area.
It’s believed that the fire started in the administration block at the Khutlo-Tharo Secondary school in Sebokeng during the early hours of the morning.
This is the second school that has been damaged by a fire.
Earlier this month Tokelo High School was set alight and four classrooms burnt down.
The cause of the fire at Khutlo-Tharo Secondary school is not yet known.
The DA is urging the community to assist the South African Police Service (SAPS) in their investigation, so that it can be speedily concluded.
Furthermore, we also call on the community to assist the Gauteng Department of Education in ensuring that the schools in the province are not damaged.
The DA will be closely monitoring the progress of the investigation into the fire.
